Evan is running for North Miami City Council District 1 in the upcoming November 5th, 2024 election. An open seat, District 1 encompasses many of North Miami’s diverse eastside neighborhoods, including Keystone Point, Arch Creek East, Sole Mia and Florida International University’s Biscayne Bay campus.
Teaching 9th grade Algebra in low-income schools with Teach For America ignited Evan’s flame for public service. A third-generation former public-school educator, he dove head-first into community organizing on nights and weekends to further empower his students and their families alike. Education not only shaped Evan’s career, but also introduced him to his wife and the love of his life, Dr. Adolphia Lauture (OB/GYN).
Together, Adolphia and Evan have put down deep roots in North Miami as homeowners, active community leaders and parents to Josephine Kokorose, who turns two on Election Day 2024! The daughter of Haitian immigrants and a former high school science teacher, Adolphia’s today an OB/GYN physician serving the healthcare needs of women across our community. Evan is the Founder & CEO of Indelible Capital Partners, an impact investment and consulting firm founded right here in North Miami.
Evan has a deep track record of community impact and tangible results for North Miami and South Florida. Under the appointment of outgoing District 1 Councilman Scott Galvin, he has served as chair of North Miami’s Affordable Housing Advisory Committee and as a member of the Zoning Board of Adjustment since 2020. He is a current board director of the Greater North Miami Chamber of Commerce, board member for Teach For America – Miami-Dade, and member of the Arch Creek East and Keystone Point neighborhood associations and the ParcView condo association. A rising star in Florida politics, Evan is also the former Treasurer of the Miami-Dade Democratic Party and a co-founder of the Northeast Miami-Dade Democrats.
Evan earned an MBA with a full-tuition scholarship in Real Estate and Finance from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and a BA in Political & Social Thought from the University of Virginia. He also currently is a Public Leadership Credential candidate at the Harvard Kennedy School.
Evan believes that every North Miami resident deserves a safe and secure community where we all can thrive. He has got the right vision, fresh perspective and proven track record to help lead our City to a brighter future for all residents.
